I was on the phone with ChillyLilly just a few hours ago. We were chit chatting and laughing about moonlight lakes and applesauce (true!) and then we were talking about her cat. She was taking her cat for a walk.
Suddenly, a dog without a leash came around the corner. The dog was very interested in the cat. The owner followed soon after. The owner was in possession of another dog, this one on a leash.
I heard ChillyLilly talking to the dog owner. I heard her until she started screaming and screaming and screaming at the dog to leave the cat alone. Then the owner came over to help, bringing her leash-ed dog with her. I heard ChillyLilly scream, "Get that dogs away! Get! Go! No!"
And I heard the dog owner saying, "Stop it. No. Lay down. Down. Here. Come." I think speak, beg, and roll over were coming next.
The I heard the dogs go a bit away and then I heard ChillyLilly say, "Oh Kitty." In a very mournful voice. And then the phone went dead.
I vote no. Not allowed to happen to ChillyLilly's cat.
ChillyLilly called back right away though. Sweet kitty wasn't harmed, with the exception of the emotional scarring that will never disappear.
I'm going to visit there in a few weeks. I'll tell you one thing. I'm NOT wearing a kitty leash and I'm not going to be nice to dogs who attack me.
I learn from experience.
