wooo! rare form today!

BellyRub and Erotica are in town and I just got a contact name of a very active Kerry person in Ohio! That's where those two crazy kids live! And I called my parents' house to talk to that younger, but taller, brother of mine, but he was not home.

!

I had something to say and he wasn't home. Punk. Where were they? Visiting Erotica's dying grandfather in the hospital. He was dying two weeks ago and she was so upset and unhappy and hadn't known how sick he was and does she really need this? I spoke with my cousin, OrganaPlan, and said, "She doesn't need this shit. Why doesn't that family just hurry up and die?"

Nice, Dotty.

Then! A super-secret spy who wants to do things to support the democratic party called to get information on how she can be a covert operative! BrilliantEditor has the contact, but he wasn't here! So she and I talked. She's very interesting. She said that she and her sister were afraid there'd be a revolt if Kerry wasn't elected. I'm not sure about the revolt, but I don't think it will be pretty.

BE has suggested that the rapture should occur. Once that happens, all these people who are going to rhapsodized will either get left behind or go away. One way or the other we're spared their horror-inducing, stomach twisting carrying on. I told this to her. The wife of a clandestine lion tamer. She laughed. I have powers beyond all understanding!

And! I heard Tommy Franks jabbering about how ab fab George W. is. He was saying how he'd increased veterans' benefits (yeah?) and how he'd formed the largest international coalition in the history of the world (he's counting Togo and its "moral support"). Then George's daddy talked about how fantastic things had gotten for Mexican Americans. How they own their own homes and have jobs and stuff. They found a woman who was talking about how great it was. She was apparently the token Mexican. I suspect she was from Puerto Rico and on serious drugs. I talked to the secret agent about this, too. She agreed that Togo was not really a force that could be described as threatening.

So! This morning I was listening to Amy Goodman (who has the shocking ability to sound very sweet when she wants something) and she was making very happy. Code Pink, who seem to bad ass chicks with sense of humor, were talking about the extraordinary security at the Republican convention. Two of the founders (one of whom is named Medea. Can you beat that?) were on the show describing how easy it was to get past security. They'd gotten passes from drunken delegates; one played the "woman in distress" card and got in without any credentials at all; another just walked in. One person, who got in all four nights, was on the list of the top twenty people they REALLY didn't want in there.

Ha! Losers. National security! Ha!

I am a little concerned about using the crying woman thing. It works too well to abuse. I suppose he didn't abuse it. But in public!

And! When I was at the gas station, the Army had recruiting pamphlets on top of the live bait refrigerator. Live bait, indeed.

Tell Bellyrub and Erotica we said hello, I might try to call them Sunday, but I'm not sure I'll get to see them this weekend.

Missed you at the party, maybe next time
