Guess what I did today!
I had a real cuppa Joe. It's been a long time since I had a real cuppa Joe. I thought it was about damned time to live in the grown up world and take my caffeine like a man.
Hooaaaa, there's a reason I don't usually do that! Aside from the fact that I am not a man. (Shocking!)
Believe it or not, I wasn't always this calm. I swear to God that's true. I used to get myself worked up into a snit on short notice and didn't de-snit until some extraordinary event happened. I can't even think of an example.
Baby, I'm not in a snit, but I have that little pain on my left shoulder that I always get when I am successfully stressing myself out. I don't feel stressed out, though. Maybe I'm stressed in. Too many things in the brains trying to get out. Why do those things always pick the same place? I have a theory, but that's for another day.
And so, coffee was finished at about four. It's now nine. I should really know better. But maybe I'll be all set to read all night. Yes! I have a bunch of books in line. I'm so happy! AND! I should tell you about ab fab books written by someone you know tangentially. I will, however, wait until he gets used to the idea of being publicly fabulous.
BrilliantEditor thinks it's probably a good idea if I stay off the sauce. Sauce being caffeine. Drinking some booze might help. That's the other sauce. Then there are sauces like ketchup and Heinz 57 and Texas Pete and A1 and barbeque and worchesttebleh and soy and lots of others that I'm sure I'm forgetting as I'm already bored of this excercise.
Gravy. That's a sauce, right?
I watched part of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory today. Violet Beauregard blows up like a blueberry. She says, "I feel funny!" I think it's grandpa Joe who says, "I'm not surprised."
Sweet, sleepy, charming darlings, if I watch the movie again tonight and Violet says, "I feel funny!" I'm going to say something profound and meaningful.
I'm giong to say, "Me too."
